New Year Resolution – 2020 To-Do List

Ha! I’ve finally decided to write my New Year Resolution – 2020 To-Do List and share it with my readers. A decade is over – 10 years gone and so much has changed.
365 days and 1 extra day, 12 chapters to write this book and so much to look forward to. Wow, I’ve said this but don’t know where to begin. There is a lot that my mind wants to do, but I’ve never been good at following resolutions.

During a conversation with my partner, he made me realize that I tend to set unrealistic and long duration goals. Guilty. He asked me to set shorter, achievable goals. In this way, I will have shorter deadlines, I’ll be active and leave my laziness behind. To up a notch, I decided to make my New Year Resolution – 2020 To-Do List.
Here are a few of my New Year Resolution – 2020 To-Do List and I’m hoping I end up ticking off at least half of this list by year-end.

LOSE 8KGS and STAY FIT

I’ve been struggling for years to lose weight and stay within my BMI range. Every time I reach my goal, a few lazy days and a sudden change in plans disrupt a set routine. I don’t usually face withdrawals when on a diet, but once my routine breaks, I’m back at the weight I started. This year, I intend to tick this off my list. So, it will feature first on my list.

FIRST MARATHON EXPERIENCE – TMM 2020

Tata Mumbai Marathon bib

I’ve always wanted to take part in a marathon. When the dates and registrations opened, I enrolled at the last minute and lost out on the 10K run. Wanting to tick it off my to-do 2020 list, I ran the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2020 for a charity and it was a fulfilling experience.

WAKE UP AT 7 AM

I am a lazy, sleepyhead. Waking up early has always been a task. I am an owl so I can’t rise with the sun. Since I intend to reach and leave from work at a specific time, I intend to make waking up at 7 am a routine.

READ 1 BOOK IN 2 MONTHS

My vocabulary and diction have gone for a toss over the last few years. I’ve been finding it difficult to pick up a book and finish it. I haven’t managed to read one book in a year! Says quite a lot? Every time I’m at a bookstore or happen to notice one, I end up picking up a book, but don’t end up reading it. To double trouble myself, I’ve decided to read at least 1 book every 2 months. Let’s hope I tick this one off too.

CUT DOWN ON SUGAR!

I have a sweet tooth! Desserts and anything sweet is my weakness. Daily post-lunch, I crave to gobble down a sweet dish. It can range from a brownie to a cheesecake, waffles, pancakes, pedas, jalebi-rabdi, etc. This year, my sweet cravings need to STOP.

PHONE DETOX ONCE A WEEK

Digital Detox

I’ve realized scrolling through Instagram and YouTube is eating up my productivity. I tend to push away small errands as social media consumption has become a part of my routine. Almost every day I leave late to work as I’ve wasted time watching stories and end up rushing out to work. While I cannot completely cut off from Social Media, I’ve decided to detox once a week, which means – No phone rule. Instead, I’ve decided to either pick a book, bake, or write.

MY 2020 TO-DO LIST – VISIT A NEW PLACE

I am one of those few people who chose to visit Northeast India before North. This year, I intend to step foot in the region. And will share my journey.

WRITE A BLOG POST FREQUENTLY

Well, I’m not going to say much about this one. Again, I intend to write at least 1 post every two weeks, sounds realistic?
